Hey whats up everyone,
Is been a very busy, but also very successful couple of weeks for me. I’ve had a few good results in the last month and just a few days ago wrapped it all up with a win in Orlando and a Dew Cup championship! Orlando was a really long week, we got there Tuesday night and didn’t ride til Sunday, and because I was prequalified I had nothing but practice every day until Sunday, 2 ten minute practices each day then a bunch of killing time. I was actually pretty busy, busier then I like to be at least for a Dew Tour weekend. I had lots of press related stuff to do this weekend being the points leader, which is kinda stressful, but helps in the long run. The course was pretty basic again so I knew all week all I needed to work on was just dialing in my tricks and that’s about all. All of my practices went great and I actually did my run about 4 times throughout the week before finals, so I was feeling super confident. Sunday for sure threw in a curve ball though when after practice the wind picked up big-time. It was way windier out then I like to ride in so it was definitely messing my head up, I also watched a few of the other riders getting blown around which was a pretty bad idea. by the time it was my turn to do my run I knew I had to just give it hell, but I was really nervous about it, the first trick in my run was supposed to be a KOD flip on the windiest jump on the course, and I was so scared of how hard the wind was blowing before I came up to the turn I was literally shaking. the first jump ended up staying straight which gave me a little bit of confidence for the rest of my run, but it was for sure not the way I wanted to start my run, it was still a decent super flip, but nowhere near as big as I wanted it to be because of how nervous I was. the rest of my run went pretty close to the way it was planned, but the wind sure did throw me off a few times out there, as it did for everyone. I knew if I had to I could of cleaned up my run and made it a lot better, but seeing how it was the last big event of the year, and it was pretty windy out, I definitely didn’t want to ride again. When the second round scores came out and I was still sitting in first I was really pumped, I knew I had just locked in the championship on top of the 5th round win! That’s 3 Dew trophies, and 1 Dew cup for my trophy room, pretty exciting if you ask me. Anyways I went out with my buddies for the night and had a good time, then jumped on my flight Monday afternoon and came home to my family, which is where I plan on staying for the next month or two. I need some time to relax, spend with my family, play guitar, hang with my buddies, play video games, and drink beers! You may not catch any blogs out of me for a while seeing as how my next few months don’t have dirt bikes anywhere in sight, so if not have a good Halloween and we’ll see ya sometime in November, later!
